How to upload contacts.
Do you have an email list that you would like to add to your Cheers Video Mail account?
First, you want to create an Excel spreadsheet. Most email applications will allow you to export your contacts into a spreadsheet.
The first row of your spreadsheet should include column names such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, etc…
Once you have created your spreadsheet, log into Cheers Video Mail and click on Contacts on the left navigation sidebar and select Address Book.
Click on import contacts at the top of the page.
The following page will display. Click on browse to select the excel file.
Then click on upload to add it. You should receive a File Successfully Uploaded message.
If you receive an error, ensure the format is correct as outlined on the page.
Then click next.
Here is where you will be able to map your spreadsheet.
To organize your spreadsheet’s data, select a heading in each drop down.
They should correlate with the column titles from your spreadsheet.
For example, If you click on a drop down for Email and select “email”, all the email addresses from your spreadsheet will be generated.
Do this for all of the headings you have listed in your Excel spreadsheet.
Once you are done selecting the headings, click on Next.
This page will show you a list of all the contacts you have uploaded.
First, select the Consent Type for the contacts.
Express indicates that you have explicit permission to email these contacts.
Inferred indicates that you have permission to email these contacts, based on having had previous communications with them.
Deemed indicates that you may not have explicit consent to communicate with the contact, but it is necessary to contact them.
You can also add these contacts to a specific group by selecting the Add Contacts to Group drop-down.
Once you've selected a group, click on the plus sign. Adding contacts to a group is optional.
This page also informs you if the email address entered is valid, if this contact already exists in your address book, and the status of the import.
Verify that all information is accurate, and click on Confirm Import.
You should receive a Success message. If you receive an error, check to see if all the information completed is accurate and click Confirm Import again.
Congratulations! You have successfully imported your contacts.
